a new mystery piece-)

i've seen this vase in the special christmas sale in the charity i'm going somtimes.... nobody cares about the blue cut vase... but somthink attracted me in the shape....i feel maybe bohemian... well i changed my mind and dont buy it in case of crazy price.

the sale finished and the vase still bored alone in the display-) well time after tiime this vase still look at me calling "hey buy me you don't regret"

after my last lucky purchase of vallerysthal production and often in my books..... i just realized "thats it !!!!!" i reconised the sahape and the dimension could be similar but.... colours not really same. but in desire christian i just saw one piece of this overlay blue color a paperweight.... and says.....it isnow very possible.....what my feeling says to me-)

after working for gallé, vallerysthal and meisenthal, desiré christian open his own business nearby the meisenthal galssworks. this was afamilly business where he worked with his brother francois and his sohn and daughter and few emploies ( circa 6 persons)

the studio was devoted to decoration, specially to enamels, acid etched pieces and wheel carved pieces.

desiré christian worked with meisenthal and saint louis for the blancs.
meisenthal was furnishing to christian the clear glass or coloured glass, and st louis all multy layered blancs.

this vase is for that reason probably a blanc issued from saint louis for desiré christian workshop. the wheel cut cherry branch decoration is probably excecuted by francois christian . most of refereced pieces i have seen and whhen carved where by him, most of his attributed vases are also unsigned.

as you can compare, the model from the book " desire christian et son atelier" is issued from the same mold as the blue one. same dimensions , shape and overlay work in clear internal cristal and coloured layerd in external layer.

i hope to find another piece like that signed to confirm my feeling-)

enjoy

    Derrick, stroke again! ;-)) Bravo!

Was it an auction, or did you buy it at the shop? You'd never have a chance to get it if it was a cameo pavot...
