Made in Japan became synonymous with cheap gift ware in America during the 1950s when the markets were flooded with inexpensive novelty glass and ceramic items. Of course, "Made in Japan" soon became "Made in Hong Kong", then "Made in Taiwan", and now as all of Asia is open to trade, these post-war Japanese exports are beginning to regain their charm.

These three vases are probably mass-produced but each has a furnace-polished rim. Each is 6 3/4" (17 cm) tall with a square 1 3/4" (4.5 cm) base.

Well stated and shown Artfoot. As you can see, most Japanese glass, even their mass produced stuff, was well made and finished.
      The trio looks great together!

Thank you Peggy and Karen - I was pretty sure you would recognize these and thanks for your appreciation. I have a fondness for this sort Japanese glass and have wondered if it had been exported to markets other than American.
