I have just added this unusual Enameled Satin Rainbow vase to my small collection of Harrach pieces, which makes a grand total of 3!!

I just love this, and particularly the way the fruit blossoms are illustrated in both blue and pink to match the glass. It's 13" tall and crushingly pretty.

While I am still primarily a collector of inter-war bohemian glass, during the process of internet searching, I will not miss an opportunity to both educate myself about other makers and also grab good pieces of quality glass when the opportunity arises. At the time I grabbed this piece, I really had no idea if there was such a thing as Harrach Satin Rainbow Glass, I just knew it was a quality piece, with all the tell-tale signs of Harrach quality enameling. Alisa at the guildedcurio helped me identify this as very likely Harrach, there are no marks so I guess no one could be 100% sure.

I guess a few years ago I would have completely overlooked Harrach as being "granny glass" and of no interest to me. But in the process of collecting you can, if open-minded have your eyes turned to the fine art and high quality craftmanship of makers other than Loetz and Kralik et al. I collect on a budget so this came at the price of a steak dinner and a bottle of wine for two - not bad eh? Guess we're eating in tonight! Don't tell the wife!!!

Perhaps I should have saved this for my 100th post!

Divine! Heavenly! It sends me somewhere of the rainbow & is exactly my cup of tea (in fact, a three course meal)! I have a miniature example: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/216005-bohemian-opaline-rainbow-swirl-hand-painted-miniature-vase

IronLace ... love your example too. By the way I've just been looking at some of your recently listed 'cream colored victorian art glass' see this link: http://www.thegildedcurio.com/item-Harrach-1139.html
There used to be some other links on here (CW) to images of the Harrach section at the Passau, but I think the member left and pulled their posts.

Oh Phil, this is exquisite. Just everything about it - the glass colors, the very fine enamel work...and it is in amazing condition - this is a museum piece! I would be SO proud to own it. You certainly have an eye for quality, and beauty! :)

Beautiful vase, hard to be positive it's Harrach, but there's a good chance.

Thanks Kev. And Brian thanks, I think that is the general consensus. The was a suggestion about Riedel, but I think that is less likely.

Love this vase, the vines seem to float on the piece, and the gilding is spectacular, so beautiful !

@Phil - Thanks for the comment Phil, your right they do seem to float and it gives an indication of how thick the glass is despite it's elegance and perception of fragility it's quite a robust piece.

Hi Warren - I'm not sure - and rather reluctantly have I just recently let it go, along with some others to make room for some new pieces that I have just acquired from a collector in France - 21 pieces in total! I have to say I was sorry to see it go, it was a very beautiful piece and in almost pristine condition too.

What a shame I didn't find this when it was up for sale...totally would have bought it to go with my mini example...

Hi IronLace - I ended up selling it privately - actually it was a reluctant sale - I was just making space, was a very beautiful and unusual piece.
