Posting this for freiheit to see as I mentioned it on one of her posts :)
A sterling silver double-shank ring set with an oval chrysophase cabouchon.
This is my second project at jewellery class, and has taken me 11 2-hour evening classes to complete. It would have been finished earlier but it ended up to big so I had to resize it which took some time to get the shape back in the double shank at the back. It's a learning curve, and a fabulous insight into how jewellery is made.
This one still needs a bit of finishing around the stone setting and a bit of a polish, but I'll be wearing it now until next week's class!

Tassie and freiheit, thanks for your comments, you're very kind to a novice :) It's an eye-opener doing a class like this, I have to say, I thought it was a fairly simple design but it's been a lot of work!

The original inspiration for the shank and the y-shape came from a Bernard Instone ring I have that's too small for me. :( I wanted to try a much-simplified version of it. It evolved along the way into this. My tutor is fabulous, I couldn't achieve anything without her help!
