This is a large cameo over two inches. It looks like rose gold.
I know so little about them I wouldn't hazard a guess on age. Subject matter is Greek or Roman Gods.

Really pretty, but not a cameo - a miniature portrait painted on what looks like porcelain. Check the back of the mount carefully for marks. Some gold marks are very tiny and easily missed.
      Looks to be Edwardian.

      hi

No marks on reverse, I looped it thoroughly.

The subject is one seen regularly on cameos: the Greek/Roman gods Zeus/Jupiter & his wife Hera/Juno, in what is technically called a 'jugate' composition, with the 2 profiles juxtaposed. Around the bottom edge are Hermes/Mercury, messenger of the gods, & the eagle that serves Zeus & carries his thunderbolts.
Efesgirl is quite correct that it is properly called a miniature, not a cameo, but it is not uncommon to see the term used this way. I agree, going by the design of the clasp & hinge, that the brooch is Edwardian/early 20th century. Impossible to be certain from a photo, but think it would test to be gold. :)
