    Found this today at a yard sale. Loved the look of it. The gentleman I purchased this from said he used it to sharpening his knives. I bought it to put it in my parlour room but any information on this would be great. :)

      cool find,
      Likely home-made but well done with cap bearings, just need a washing machine motor (or something like that) and belt... if you wanted to sharpen your axes or swords

      Hard to see in the photograph but it might have had a foot operated treadle mechanism for turning the grinding wheel.

      My maternal Grandfather had one of these out beside his workshop, many years ago. He used his to sharpen knives, axes, etc... Great find!!
