Over-dyed bakelite bangle. When I found it was lighter color but has oxidized to "butterscotch". It probably was sold as a set of 3. It's not a spacer because it's thick and domed.
I found this 5/16" carved bangle in a box of "stuff" in Walnut, Iowa in 1988. The store was an old corner pharmacy/general store turned into antique store with many other town buildings (ie lumber store, women's clothing shop). The town of Walnut was bypassed by Interstate 80 so they reinvented themselves by becoming a tourist destination for collectors and now is called "Iowa's Antique City". I plan a visit home this summer and hopefully can do some shopping there!
Yes, there is online selling in the Midwest - so jewelry isn't as cheap as I would like. Still I always manage to bring a full suitcase home from those trips :-)
