      Gregory, you also have A bachelor chest very similar to mine! Bachelor chests are of English origin from the Georgian period. These were generally smaller pieces of furniture for young men to use that wouldn’t take up much space in dwellings. They generally started out making these with bun feet then graduating to Bracket feet. My chest is a reproduction probably from the 1930’s, though it had seen years of neglect, it had good bones. I like the small pull out shelf just below the top.

      You should take your chest to an appraiser to get more information about the piece.... it certainly has some lovely graining.

      Thank you for the info....I was amazed because thats the reason I was on the site to find out more about my piece. I wasn't expecting to find an exact match...I was kinda blown away
