After Mom passed in March of this year, I inherited all of hers and her Mother's jewelry. There is a bit of fine jewelry, albeit, inexpensive fine jewelry but more fascinating is the large amount of costume jewelry. 90% of the costume jewelry belonged to my Grandmother.

She was born in early 1900's, so any amount of jewelry that would have likely been accumulated from 30's to 70's (late). She died in early 80's. She seemed to LOVE brooches, Canadian Maple leaves, etc.

This is another pin from her collection. As with the others, I have no clue on time period BUT there is a mark on the back 'STERLING K L'.

Appears that this is: Vintage: Jade brooch/pendant: gold vermeil over sterling: Maker: Karen Lynne 1950s, Nephrite jade

This brooch isn't costume jewelry - anything marked Sterling is Fine Jewelry. Here is another; the maker is Karen Lynne:

      Thanks Efesgirl,

STERLING went over my head as the piece has a gold overlay or vermeil? and I also have a friend named Sterling so that didn't even hit me like it would if I were looking at something that was 'silver' in color.

      I'll reclass it.

Yes, gold vermeil on Sterling silver. That'quite common.

      My brother's name is Sterling.....

      Efesgirl,

      Wow...that is an interesting coincidence!

Thought the maker name was intriguing as well as...well hey, it's 'Karen' and the middle name 'Lynne' is exactly how I spelled it when I gave my eldest daughter that middle name.

It's getting stranger and stranger, LOL!

I agree with that! I'm actually going to ask that daughter, although she doesn't like 'gold' jewelry (not in tone, carat, etc.) if she'd like to have it...I can PROVE there is SILVER in there somewhere!

I just realized what a poor pic I took of the front. Ugh...more light...better background...but SAME photographer. Can't fix that lol ;)
