    I love the almost art deco style of this moulded vase from Japan. The monochromatic glaze allows the rings and golden pheasant to shine.

    It was imported to Australia by Saywell Imports, probably during the 1970s.

      Wow Karen, this makes such a statement with that rich, bold color! Very nice detailing on the bird, and those deep rings is just icing on the cake ... great piece!

      This is wonderful Karen. The vase reminds me of a paper lantern. Interesting how the rings on the pheasant mirror the ones on the lantern. Unusual color too...not quite red or brown . :)
