    Hello,

I acquired a wonderful doll collection from my neighbor who was a world traveler and has passed. I am trying to find out information on this beautiful doll.

She is 31" and has a porcelain head and what appears to be a composition body. She has the marking of "Made in Germany" with the number N17. She has blue sleepy eyes and is in wonderful condition due to her apparent age.

Any information would be very appreciated.

    Thank you in advance!

Hi she is a German Kestner Alphabet series Doll . I am not sure why her body looks replaced it appears to new ? Is there any wear one it at all ? It actually doesn't even look like compo on photo . Remove last photo ok and do a close up of a joint on body .
She is wonderful large size . I would also like to see close up of face .

Thank you I feel better about seeing her face close up but I just can't rule out a replaced body . The varnish on the composition would have aged normally to a bit of yellow hue . I wish I could reach into pC and hold her :-) I guess it is possible but it may have been repainted and repaired at one time . At any rate gorgeous doll !
This is how I am more used to seeing compo body look

Interesting. How would I determine if her body has been replaced? Is there anything that would give a clue? Thank you for the example of the composition body and for all of your valuable expertise!

Hi Lucy . Can you email me a photo of full body nude ?
      Manikin1234@hotmail.com
It is possible it never had any wear or maybe repainted ?

      Hi Manikin,
I have emailed you front and back full body nudes. It is possible for either. The woman who owned her was very meticulous.

On close up I still don't see a composition body it looks like a porcelain body ? which would be wrong for her . Are you sure it is compo ?

I am not sure. That is what I am trying to determine. I am such a novice at dolls. I will email you a picture of the inside of a joint.
