Thrift-store finds. I'm mostly curious on the hex-head, big, orange-painted brass one: Aurora Bridgeport Metal Goods Mfg. Co.
I find many 1960s refs. to their making flash-lights, but the flash-light matches many 1930s patents better.

As for the other, I'm guessing '50s. Ray-O-Vac in a cloud. Lots of copper and chrome.

    Anyone a torch expert?

Here is a good old flashlight info site that may help you.
      https://www.google.com/search?q=flashlight+museum&oq=flas&aqs=chrome.0.69i59j0j69i57j69i60l2j0.4655j0j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Never heard of it, Political Pinbacks. I rarely get chrome stuff to polish, though.

lzenglish, thank you. Sadly, they don't have this particular Aurora listed.

SpiritBear, you are welcome. I saw they only had 7 or so of the brand you were looking for, BUT, i also noticed that when you go to this site, there are many more web sites located before and after it, so maybe you will find it there. The other one you have is called a bullet design, i believe. I also collect old flashlights, as the price is right at 50 cents to a couple of bucks each in my area. Good Luck!

I just find old ads lacking pictures, I'm afraid, in Google Books for the company.
They're usually over-priced here, but these were under a dollar each.

Bridgeport Metal Goods Mfg Co was incorporated in Bridgeport Ct in March, 1909. According to help wanted ads published in the Bridgport newspapers, their factory (or perhaps offices) was on the corner of Pine and Cherry streets, in Bridgeport...there's nothing on that site now that looks anything like a factory. a May 7 1918 ad in the Bridgeport Telegram indicates that they were makers of the "Kwik-lite" flashlight, as well as specialists in metal goods, made to order. While their factory was on Cherry St. their battery dept (whatever that was) was on Carbon St. The "Kwik-lite" ads run through 1920, but the firm remained in business long after in 1937 their president was accused of having connections to the German Nazi party, a charge the firm denied. The firm filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection March 30, 2004. Hope that helps ;)

LOL, thanks, Bryan. But that doesn't give me an age on an all brass Aurora by them. :P
      Nazis, huh?
