i love the enamel on this one! i have several smaller old ones i like very much, but this one is YUUUGE! i put a large lighter next to it for size comparison.

I need to give up riding bike and get an elephant. Probably much safer on the road. ;)
but you'll only get exercise if you want to make him go somewhere he doesn't want to go!
ho2cultcha you probably never read it but Army engineers used elephants in Vietnam and our pilots got credit for one enemy vehicle destroyed if they hit an enemy elephant. Long, long ago and far away but not forgotten.
how awful! i lived in Thailand many years ago, and i had to regularly get across a paddock where a very large and grumpy elephant lived. it was terrifying! i would try to be very quiet and not make a sound. if he was sleeping deeply, i could do it, but if he was just resting, he could hear me climbing the fence and would be ready to scare the crap out of me! he's rush down - blaring his trumpet and stomping and i'd run faster than i ever knew i could but then i had to get over the other fence/wall and it was difficult. well, i'm still alive so i made it, but i get anxious around elephants now!!
these are also Benares Ware - excellent quality - 19th or early 20th century.
