Recent find in Iowa is this interesting 9"x3.5"x3" wood cigar box with nice burnt and label graphics. I paid more than I usually do...but it was special to me also from Ottumwa, Iowa. I think I may have enough now piled on my narrow wrought iron baker's rack.

Scott - thanks, enjoy these and so useful to store my junk!

aka John - Right - one more! I'm sure that won't be hard :-) I also have some (17) plain tin lidded cans that held loose tobacco circa 70's-80's. Those were stored in my bldg's basement and then set out by the dumpster because they didn't have any labels. Agree, easy to find a reason to add to a collection :-)

Yes Caperkid - he was from Iowa! I drove by the Field of Dreams town of Dyersville but didn't stop in after a 2-day visit in Dubuque. However we stopped at the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa. - Wonderful!

Thanks friends for loving old cigar boxes: Bonnie, Lamplover, Kevin, Phil, Fort, Mike, Bijou, Thomas :-)

Sorry, the museum is so jam-packed it's hard to get far enough away to get a good picture. My favorite displays were of old motorcycle club clothing and accessories -
wide leather belts and old posters. Also an amazing tin litho toy display. The museum has a Shell gas station, a "parts/accessories" store with beautiful old display cases, vignettes featuring Evil Knievel, Steve McQueen, Easy Rider (they had to sell the original chopper to make money for the museum), great Women's club displays, Harley and Indian displays, American Pickers found some old advertising signs for them. Sorry, I'm rambling - if interested nationalmcmuseum.org
