very old,great shape,was put out for trash,dont know what it is for.looks like a victorian peace.pleace if any body knows,let me know.thanks

Not kidding. Keep in mind that being as fair skinned as possible was also a fad.
The flat screen should be ajustable up and down the pole to accommodate different individuals. There were handheld versions as well.
I can't vouch for it being original or a reproduction...
