Thanks to Efesgirl and Gillian - I now know the pendant has Marcasite stone and the camphor glass has what I call the frosted effect. I really like the pattern.

I like the artistry that is at the top of the circular stone. Pendant is stamped sterling but we know that doesn't determine exactly how much.

Long chain which I prefer, however as people have helped me see, the chain is more modern and wasn't originally paired with the pendant.

Signed: 9252? I took pics last night and am not sure I took a pic of that I'll go back and try to see where I found it and take a pic.

Yes. the modern chain doesn't belong with that lovely pendant. That's not a stone - it's camphor glass. Art Deco period.

Lovely Camphor glass and Marcasite pendant. nutsabout may be correct about the chain, as it has a lobster clasp.

LOL...dang...now where do I find a period appropriate chain? I personally LOVE longer chains so I was excited when I extended this one and could just flip it over my head. Oh well, it was the pendant itself that got my attention.

Hey! I've been wondering if anything I had would ever be a piece of Art Deco. YAY!

You know..I even looked at it and thought..that whole thing is not a stone, that's like etched glass..but I still didn't list that as a question.

Thanks to Efesgirl and Gillian for clarification on the actual type of glass. Camphor...makes me think of the oil. I appreciate the help so I can correctly describe things.

Is there email within this forum if we need to get someone's address, etc.?

Look on eBay, Etsy, Ruby lane etc. for an Art Deco, or just Deco long chain, (I really like paper clip chains).

Here's a Deco chain (the style is called a Belcher chain).

Of course if you want to buy a new chain, it is going to be quite bright.

Thanks, Gillian. I'd like to buy one from roughly same time period although I will note for those that will inherit from me one day that the necklace is not ORIGINAL with the pendant but is from same period.

All 'new and bright' can be pretty, I think having a necklace that based on either age or time period/what it was made with will look much prettier with the pendant.

You caught my preference..that chain is 24" long! Love it. I'm going to stalk the auctions for one as I'd have NO clue as to when/where/etc. I'd find one starting out on my own at estate sales/thrift shops, etc.

Efesgirl - thanks for the reminder on changing the status to solved!! I need to go look at others I may have forgotten to do this on.

I'll go look at the 2 peeps profiles right now to see what they have listed
