I have been trying to find a Ryukyu flower vase for a long time and am pretty happy to have this one.

The vase itself is a typical Ryukyu wrythen shape, from deep red glass with yellow handles and foot. It is quite large at 42cm.

The flowers are not attached to the vase, instead they have been made individually and wired together, then wrapped around the vase; the usual Ryukyu way.

It is absolutely lush and gorgeous, with different colour and shape flowers, buds and leaves.

I believe this vase is at least 20 years old and I am not sure if Ryukyu still make flower vases. Recent photos of their workshop and outlet stores show no such vases.

Thanks Scott, OTT it is but they get away with it. It does need a big space, alone, to look good.
