    I found this in an old cabin. It looks and is a similar size to a tea infuser but when closed it has a cherry-sized hole in the end. There is a screw to hang it but once hung it would have to be used in that position. It opens to about 1-2 inches. Silver metal, maybe stainless no markings.

      Thanks all ... the bar towel holder makes sense. But the meatball maker sounds like fun too.

      TallCakes is absolutely correct. Stick one corner of a bar towel between the round pcs, then pull the rectangular ring downward to clamp the round pcs together on it, which leaves it hanging handy for use.
