The Art Deco styling drew me to this Juice-O-Mat made by Rival mfg. co. If I recall correctly they also made the can opener I recently posted.
The patent dates on the underside date from 1937 and 1939. So that would place it in the 1940s. WWII put a damper on all things other than military collectibles so perhaps the later 1940s. Although I am sure they got a few out before the action started.
This juicer is 8" tall when closed. Also a bit heavy. Heavy enough to use as a medieval weapon. Most maces probably weighed what this does.
As soon as someone from down the hill gives me some backyard fruit I can give this thing a try.

Love the design. If Gort was going to juice oranges he would use this.

Wow! Impressive!! And it looks like it would weigh a ton!! Very cool peek back in time. Had no idea they had something like this so early in the last century!

LOL...took a peek again as it has been driving me crazy that something you said kept resounding in me...at first I almost said "Klingon"..but it's not...it's from "The Day The Earth Stood Still"! I can't believe it took me rethinking it. Growing up I loved to watch all the older black and white shows...especially sci-fi/scary movies.

Ironically we were just discussing "The Day of the Triffids" the other day

KarenLR71. elanski mentioned Gort and of course Klaatu Barada nikto is the command to get Gort to stand down.

I have my grandmother’s Juice-O-Mat and remember the wonderful fresh citrus juices. Now I share that same experience with my grandchildren and they always rave about how good the juice tastes plus having so much fun making it themselves. I am redoing my kitchen and this wonderful piece will continue to have a place of honor in our lives. The engineering and design is perfect. Easy to use. Easy to clean. Easy to squeeze every last drop out. And it always works without being plugged in or without messing with some programmer’s complicated procedure.

I know it’s a long shot, but I inherited one of these from my grandmother. It’s missing the little set-screw that keeps the handle in place. Any chance you can measure the screw on yours? I think it might be a #10-24.

I don't have this one so I am jealous. I don't see a cord. I bought a similar one early this week on the 7th of March 22. It was all chrome and looked in beautiful shape, unfortunately I asked them to re-auction the item since I bought a lot more from that auction and I didn't want them to break my items with that in the box. Got some great negatives which I am looking forward to getting !~

Thank you very much Phil. I think this one is manual.
