These chairs are in almost perfect! They appear to be hand carved with gold in the carvings of 2 black chairs. They have a tacked leather seat with an imprint in the leather. There is no identification at all on these chairs and was curious to see if anyone knows anything about them.

Would you please take some pictures that are in natural light - these are too dark. Thank you.

The leather tack seat looks to be a replacement for a hand caned seat. I have seen this type of repair on other chairs. It is costly get these re- caned by hand and not many folks do it now.

The bright black looks to have been repainted (spot maybe) at some point as well-- maybe when the seat was tacked and painted.

Thank you. I'll try and get better pictures to add but I think one definitely was repainted because it does not have the gold in the carvings as the other one does.

These appear to be Shareton style chairs likely made by a company like M.R. Sadler Furniture Co. from Colorado. The company was establish in the late 1800s and they made a couple simular to this
