I found this wonderful very old textile of Native American Zuni thunder bird in a tote inside an old storage.I'm not sure what it is,but there's an opening to put something in.Look like it was handmade, altho it has stains,it's beautiful.Measure 13"x13".I would love to know the tribe and what it was used for.

This is very cool!!! You may be able to get those stains out but I'm not positive that the red won't bleed. If it were mine, I would definitely take it to a textile expert.

I have an old tablecloth that I did get the stains out. I soaked it in the tub, it took a couple days, but I used baking soda, white vinegar and a brush. The vinegar will fizz out the stain. It's a reaction that happens when mixed with baking soda. Just make sure the red in yours doesn't bleed. Would make a real nice wall hanging. Even as is.
