    Hello I have this item that looks like some kind of pop art pendant, I had something similar before and if I recall I think was told it was German, not sure if this is from the same place.

      In the Islands, the locals wrongly call them "slave trade beads" for the tourists. As if they know anything about slavery.

      In St. Eustatius, we would find these blue (mistakenly again) "slave beads" that came in spherical & octagon shapes. These are attributed to being the same type Dutch beads used to trade to the Abos for Manhattan. The time period would be right.

      I read up on these beads some time back. They were made on a Venetian island & the workers who knew how they were made, were virtual prisoners for fear of the secret getting out.
