    I got this in an old box of tools. There are no markings anywhere. The handle hinges and the plate looks like copper. Any idea what it is?

      It may be a hoof trimming tool used when shoeing horses. There should be a spring between the two nubs on the inside edges of the handles. That holds them open.

      OK, It has been some time since i solved your Mystery, which took me no less than 6 hours to do. And, for all my work, i get NOT even a Thank You From You for it. I hope you take this answer, and Shove it in a dark place, on your body, and i assure you, i, will NEVER, EVER, even try to solve a mystery for you again, period!!!!!!!!!!!!!
