While driving home from very long 3000 mi sign hunting trip last week to Texas, I couldn't believe what I thought I saw out of the corner of my eye as I raced down the highway toward home. Obviously I immediately began looking for a good turnaround spot for my big truck and trailer and eventually found one that allowed me to return to checkout what I thought I had seen. Sure enough this is what I saw as I drove past! What a thrill! Of course the next step was to find the owner and get the history of the sign etc etc. Turns out that it had belonged to the owners father and no it was not for sale! The thrill of the hunt was certainly turbocharged by this sighting! I had just been complaining to my wife about how exhausted I was from all the driving when this turned up! Wide awake now!!!

Lucky find. Getting close to that walking date ? I'm in hospital now & they are telling me to walk a much as I feel like. Delaying me getting home. You can drive ok ?

Yes I can drive, however getting in to my tall truck from a wheelchair takes real creativity. As I lift my body off the wheelchair seat with my arms, my wife slides 5 big slabs of 2x12s under me to elevate me closer to the level of the truck seat. Then she slides a long 1x6 under me on one end and on the truck seat on the other. I then grab the handle over the truck door and lift my weight off the chair and slide myself up the transfer board until I reach the truck seat! Going back to the chair is easier as its down hill and I just slide. Desire makes it all happen!

Yep! It still jolts me every time I see the pix! Finding a Frontier in the wild is quite the feat these days.
What a hassle getting in the truck ! Bet you don't run back to the store for butter you forgot to get ! Here, they found the artery to a leg partially blocked & did the Rotor Rooter thing after making a 5" incision. My body never gets out of healing mode. Hope this doesn't become the 3rd hospital I escaped from. LOL ! Know you will be glad to get on your feet. Stay away from horses.
