    I'm sure that this type of glazing has a name, but i can't think of it right now. maybe someone can help me. i think it has some authentic age to it. some of the glaze on the birds has worn off or wasn't fired right. still it's a pretty piece. it stands 6.5 inches tall. kind of looks Persian - w/ the leaves. maybe made for that market?

      i think that this is a piece of Gosu-aka pottery. i was told on the Chinese pottery fb page that this is probably 18th century. i'm looking for some more feedback on it.

      cancel that last thought. i think that this is a genuine Ming period vase - 17th century. at last that's what i've been told at the Chinese Ming Ceramics (and beyond) FB site.
