This is a beautiful, very textural little 14" x 11" landscape. The painting is stretched canvas on board. It is so good that I feel like this artist should be listed somewhere but I cannot read the name. Does anyone know who the artist is or have a guess on the signature? I'd appreciate any help.

Thank you!! I LOVE this one, too. It may be getting a frame soon. It deserves one.

Still wish I knew the artist. I sure love researching and trying to solve the mystery of signatures but I just wish there were an answer page when I finally give up. Help.... LOL!!

Yeah, that's not the fun part about paintings at all. I could drive myself crazy digging for names. Sometimes you get lucky. Like I've told many here, I found out that if you go to a local frame shop, independent ones, they have a lot of knowledge about paintings as well as the frames, you might want to try that!

That's a great idea--especially because it may be a local artist, which seems to happen a lot. Thank you for the suggestion. Plus you just made me take another look at that signature and I think that last name might be Hazel or something like that so I'll probably drive myself crazy a little more.....

Could that be a first initial (which I can’t make out) then the last name of Hanjel??

Thank you for your idea. The first initial--yes I think it is but I can't read it either. I hadn't thought of Hanjel so I did a search for an artist using your suggestion (a good one). And, no luck. Ah well. But, again, thank you!!

FINALLY! The mystery is solved. The painting was done by California artist, Richard Brian Hazel. Thank you to everyone who helped and posted.
