    This "well loved" Donald Duck bank was made by the Crown Toy Mfg. Co. of Brooklyn, NY. in 1938. Donald Duck made his first appearance in Walt Disney's short, "The Wise Little Hen," released in 1934.

      Hi, MDR, He's made of wood composition. It has a metal "trap door" on the bottom, which would have been locked with a key, but I do not possess that. At one time he had a "nodder" head, but is stationary now. This is the yellow-shirt Donald, but he also comes in a blue shirt. Because of his age, he is beginning to"flake off", so he is getting extra TLC! Thanks for the interest.

      Hi, MDR, I had originally put this under "Coin Operated" Banks. Collectors Weekly have since re-categorized it as "Still Banks." Sorry, if I confused you...
