    These inkwells are interesting to find because there are many types and colors to choose from. I do not think these are made anymore due to the convenience of the pens we have now with the ink already inside. Glass ones like these are the most common. Picture these with a fountain pen stuck in them and you'll have a great photo!

      For correctness' sake: You'd not use a fountain pen. You'd use a dip pen. There's a difference.
      Ink wells are more decorative. You could use these, sure, but this is what you usually bought it in, unless you needed a lot of ink. Then you bought a 'master ink'.
