Flea market find. Pretty graduated plastic beads necklace with tiny glass spacers. The plastic beads are a little bit translucent. Can I call the color "egg yolk"?
No seams. Simichrome test shows no yellow, however, when put under hot water, this smells exactly like my verified bakelite bangles. So I suppose this is some kind of phenolic plastic (funny story, actually, I did the smell test only today, to prove to my mum that this necklace is not from amber like she thought - and I was positively suprised by the "phenolic" smell!)
This said, I am not happy with the beading work done on this necklace, the finishing around the closure is rough. Maybe someone re-strung the necklace later? I dont know.
I would like to hear your opinion on this, as always.

I agree that it could do with a restringing. I know you'll brighten it up! :-))))

Yes, restung and these lovely phenolic "bakelite" beads are very nice. Egg yolk refers to the opaque swirly color compared to real egg yolks. When you restring them use other vintage beads between these gorgeous beads. :-)
