I'm stumped and spent days researching this desk? It has one hand made dovetail drawer with the # 5 written on it, all solid mahogany(even the smallest pieces), 5 sided tapered triangle legs with block wrapped feet, very old (looks like) hand forged drawer pull, under the desk it has Grand Rapids written in pencil with an indistinguishable 4 numeral number that was covered in some type of finish so it would last, wooden foot pegs under feet(to protect floors?), 2 small metal circles on bottom of each side of the drawer opening to help the drawer slide, with thin wood glued inside on the sides to guide the drawer and blocks glued for stops. X leg spreaders that are glued into perfect cut outs on legs. Feel free to ask anything I may have forgot, thank you for looking!

It looks like a stand that the manufacturer in north america was making in the chinese taste.

Thanks for the info, it only lets you do 4 pics so I was limited, but the handle pull and the numbers were what I thought might identify who made it. And that spiderwebish design, I can't find anything like it. I don't even know what KIND of table to search, but thanks alot Phil

Thanks again to PhilDMorris????and I think your right about the oriental theme, but I've been a woodworker for over 20 years, and I've never seen legs like these (plus 800,000 photos online!). They seem like Pembroke legs that are tapered(5 sided!) with same 5 sided Box Feet. And to have Grand Rapids written huge on the bottom with NO name tag (seems like a metal circle there, like the badge got taken off and one nail broke) is really getting to me! Plus NOT knowing exactly what those numbers are is killing me too. And does anyone know a way to reveal those #'s? I've tried various light sources to no avail already. Also, PLEASE, does anyone know what the piece is called? ie, make up desk, bedside table, bookshelf? My last coarse of action will be to take out a screw, which I really don't want to do( secretly, yes I do hehehe!) Thanks sooo much!!!

And if I can, I'll take a picture of anything you need to see, as long as they'll let me delete and repost pics. I still have a ton more pictures, so anything you need, please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks again everyone!

Have you tried asking in one of the Oriental groups on FB? Chinese or Japanese art, some of the experts there may be able to provide some clues.

Hi Katherine, no I haven't tried anywhere but here so far because I thought "How hard could it be to find a table?" Haha, wow was I way off! And thank you very much, I'll definitely check those out too, because I think I've seen every picture on the entire internet already! Haha, thanks again Katherine, and have a great day!
