I have a hard time categorizing these combination decors. This one here appears only on a confetti base (not solid tango or clear base). These took a long time for me to decide they were even kralik because so many other companies used powder decor techniques; the shapes are not very typical as well. enjoy these complex 4 to 5-layer pieces

For what it is worth, the third shape appears in Butler some ads, along with some pieces considered to be Kralik.
That shape has always bothered me because of the pontil scar and the powder decors associated with those type of organic shapes. Craig, I think the signature of this type is silver foil "Czechoslovakia"
Personally, I pay little attention to almost all marks. Kralik arches and Loetz marks are about the only exceptions. Even the marks almost always found on Welz production are not ones I use to ID glass. I have had Steuben with snapped pontils, Rindskopf with both polished and snapped pontils, Welz, with and without pontils.... and on and on. The only real rule that seems to apply to almost all of it, is that there are no real rules for any of it......
Haha, it's maddening... you have put in the hours so you know.... the big picture is working with shape, decor and marks those are the big things. I believe little things sometimes get left out.... for me I'm bored of the main decors (big things), now I'm looking at the little things more and more. This idea that a piece can have a mottled interior and a soft powder patterns on the surface appeals to me because now ther are at least three other powder patterns I'm working on by shape, color, size, marks, thickness of glass, finish etc... I'm not trying so much to create groups as make the case for the Kralik group then sort the rest later. Have a good weekend Craig
Thanks Jericho. I enjoy your posts because you bring up interesting shapes, decors, and ideas. It is always nice to see posts from someone that spends so much time on the project, and has lots of experience in the field. The little things are the ones, at least in my experience, that often provide the Ah-Ha moments.... when a bunch of things click together and you say.... there it is.... the answer I did not even know I was looking for...... :-)
