I have been fortunate to pick up three Martin Maier trunks this summer, this one is a 30 inch leather covered Maier from around mid to late 1870's. The leather is in very good shape, and plan to clean and condition it, restore the outer metal and refinish the interior, which is about 90% complete. This one actually had a M.M. label in it when he was at 55 Monroe ave. I believe he moved to Woodward ave. around 1878 or 79, so I thought that was pretty cool, greendog.

Very cool ,Always nice to see the leather in great shape.I love that style of handle it is
very unique to the time period. Was the label in good shape ? It is always cool to see a good Martin Maier label as they are not always present in the trunk.

Hi debbi, I will post a picture of it, it's in bad shape at this time, for some reason you can't swap out pictures any more, so it will be a new post, greendog.
