These larger pieces of Desert Sands have become increasingly difficult to find. This jar is 9" tall with the lid in place and has a 6" diameter. The fourth picture shows it with some other Desert Sands jars.

My understanding is that Desert Sunset is a mark used by Terrell Evans for a short while in the 1960s or early 1970s.

Apart from the eye catching in captivating glazes on these, the shapes are wonderful also!

Thank you Karen. Desert Sands Pottery has been a personal favorite for a long time. I should point out, since there is probably not much of this in Australia, that these pieces are made with blended colored clays and the only glaze is the glossy clear coat.

OK, thanks for that clarification. No, I have not seen any Desert Sands pottery in the flesh :(

      A nice selection artfoot! :^D
I really like Desert Sands, and all the blended clay Potteries, like Niloak, and many more, I've posted several different ones a while ago.
      Thanks for posting these! :^)
