    Got this from our village....a big iron pad lock with inscriptions as....
    VR
    BARRONS
    SECURE
    RATLLES
    and then their is I a sign of crown
    The lock is 5 inches long with a breadth of 3 to 4 inches and it's thickness is 1.5 inch...
    Can anybody tell something about it please ????

      Sorry....the inscription seems to be VR BARRON SECURE PATENTS

      This is an English padlock made by the Barron lock company. Robert Barron patented the double-acting tumbler lock in 1778. Your lock was made during the reign of Queen Victoria 1837-1901 (ref the VR and crown on your lock), and was probably made by the son or grandson of Robert Barron during that time period.
