These Pensee (pansy) colored vases with wispy steel-gray threads have always been thought to be an unknown Titania Genre, but recent research has found that they are actually an unknown genre of Markasit. The paper patterns reference several Markasit genres, but for all the pieces matched to paper patterns for Pensee Markasit, the genre is not specified - only the description "Pensee Markasit". There is also a Perlglas version, but that is a story for another time. :) Whatever the genre, we know from the production notes and photos that they come in at least three other colors, but "pensee" seems to be the most common.

Stunning...the gorgeous colour combined with the dainty decoration is sheer magic.

Dainty is right - the piece is rather diminutive also, at just over 4" tall.
