A friend found this in a cloth bag in the trash the other evening. it's about 8 inches across, 6 inches tall and extremely heavy- something like 7-8 lbs. i think it's brass with very old silver plating on it. i'm tempted to polish it, but like the patina where it's dirty. any info appreciated!
