Very nice doll. Anyone have idea how to get the hair looking Nice and curly again? Prevent her from more crazing in the plastic ( what is the components she is made of?)?
I think she is from 1930s.
    Thank you.

She is made of composition which basically was saw dust swept off floors and mixed with a liquid glue and poured in a mold to cure . The dolls are prone to craze like yours and the craze lines can be filled but not disappear for ever. The best way to prevent any more crazing is climate control , they don't like moisture and dramatic changes in temperature . She is either a Shirley Temple look a like if she is not marked Shirley temple on her back and on back of neck . She does not have her original wig and she has been at one time completely repainted and restored . Her wig should be mohair but even as bad as this wig is put it in curlers and make shirley temple ringlets . The wig is just way to much hair for her and wrong color also . Is she marked ?

She is original with markings on neck and back. I might store her in a better location. The hair are soft but I am not an expert on mohair
Thank you for your information. I probably leave her hair alone.

If you don't want to mess with hair I would suggest getting some hair pins and putting some in on curls to tame the wild look . You can comb front area more flat and to the side and pin it in place . The wig is not her original one and hard for me to see if it mohair but if mohair is easy to work with. Shirley dolls did not have that much hair or that color . I did Shirley Temple dolls hair for museum for 25 yrs and probably over 200 of them :-) and yes she is from 1930's . She displays nicely in a ST style dress too .
