I have a badge from W.H.Kensil, Phila but could not find anything about it.
One Kensil reference I found was 1870 and 1910.
The Badge is Sterling Silver and stamped W.H.Kensil, Phila on the back.

WWI period. It was a group that found gainful employment for women & girls in Philly 1918. "Women & girls affected by war conditions" Page 470 has no image! The other reference is on page 471.

^^ THAT reference is 1913! (Beginning of the war) I assume it was to keep them prostitution and other evils. And to support themselves if fathers, husband etc. didn't come home or came home unable to work.

I assume the #4 was a badge number that was possibly associated with the name of the person the badge was issued to. Would be interesting to know who she/he was.
