This Pin has some family history behind it but unfortunately my mother has passed away over 18 years ago and I am unable to ask her.

    Any information would be helpful,
    Thanks

Not an expert on US stuff, but pre-WWI USA Cavalry Kepi top badge? M Squadron, 13th Cavalry perhaps?

I'm former 1/4 cavalry U.S. Army - if I'm not mistaken, this insignia is the 13th Cavalry Regiment, Troop M that would be stationed in Fort Bliss, Texas.
