This post inspired by shareurpassion's post of a similar set here

    https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/139586-6pc-fondue-fork-set-bakelite-handles-19?in=activity

which I only noticed today quite by accident -- when CW happened to (randomly, I suppose?) grab one of shareurpassion's pics for that little generic "shop for [whatever you're looking at]" box that appears while viewing posts. WAITAMINNIT I says to myself... (as I went off to looking for the pic in 'show and tell') I think I've got some of those things, too...?? <lol>

And indeed mine are pretty darned close -- the one green one might even be identical to shareurpassion's set. :-) The red one and 6 yellow ones all have differently shaped handles, though all seem to have basically the very same "STAINLESS STEEL JAPAN" stamp on their backsides. I got them all a few months ago from the same 'loose flatware' bin at the thrift store mostly because I (apparently like a few others here too?) liked their brightly colored handles -- which until today I kinda thought were made of plastic. (and probably in the 1970's) What FUN to maybe discover my guesses were wrong on both counts?!! :-) :-) :-)

OH... (maybe also like racer4four and austrohungaro?) one thing I *don't* actually have is a fondue pot, so havta remain a little uncertain what I'll ever actually use these for...? <lolol>

Yeah - they are all fondue forks. Yes, most likely from the 1970's. Normally - all forks would be different colors handles, so no one got theirs mixed up with anyone elses.

Nice! You can use them to grill marshmallow on a tea candle ;-)

You could grill a hot dog over a Bic lighter if you're wearing gloves and have the patience. All the other comments are probably accurate. I had a set of these with a fondue pot back in the early 70's. Stupid fad, but pretty popular. You enjoyed the company of others without pigging out.
