The red brooch was the first one I bought, fell in love with the design and the huge faceted stones!
As you can see this design came in lots of colors, I'm still looking for the clear set, blue, and there's a metalic blue that is just gorgeous! Someday...
I have a green set, only I have to replace the brooch :(
I was wearing it and when I went to take it off, it broke in half. Half in my hand, the other still on
my sweater. I'm telling this sad story to remind everyone, and especially those of us that enjoy wearing our treasures, that these pieces are old and fragile, and to be very careful when handling them. My brooch must of had a weak spot, never the less I'm going to be MUCH MORE CAREFUL in the future.

Awe, thanks Ken, I see one once in a while pop up, but not the clear set, or the others I would like to have. My green brooch broke my heart. Speaking of green I sent a friend ( or so I thought) a magnificent GREEN VENDOME brooch for Christmas. She became furious with me, and returned it. But not until she destroyed it beyond repair. Who does that? She is supposed to love vintage jewelry, but can destroy a pristine ( took me 3 weeks to find) brooch that was 65 years old. I’m thinking of posting it to show everyone. Such a shame to take her anger of me out on a beautiful piece of VENDOME history.

This is so rich and wonderful Love the brilliant red! I'm just wondering isn't there some way you could repair the green brooch? Maybe low temperature solder, or the adhesives. it wouldn't be perfect, but it would be in one piece and maybe wearable. That's so sad about it and about the Vendome, too.

Thank you Maureen, the Ruby Red was my first love, as “Ruby & Red” is my favorite jewelry combo. The green brooch, like I said, had a weak spot. I bought it from a “friend” on line, but if I told her she would of been horrified, so I just kept it to myself.
The Vendome, on the other hand, was done with a pair of pliers, ripping off prongs. There’s no coming back from that. This person is, thankfully, out of my life for good. Had no idea just how troubled she was. Yikes!
But on to better things..No new postings for a while, I spent on my Children and Grandchildren, not myself, these last couple months. Now it’s my turn. Ha!
Happy New Year, Maureen, here’s to more lovely jewels to share!

I actually love all the colours, wonderful big stones to help ignite that fire, I worry about breakage and handling even by the P.O., never get too comfortable !~

Phil, I bought a Kramer Alexandrite brooch a while back, and I took it out of the package and it literally broke in half in my hand! Seller was very kind and returned my money, but I was sad as I haven’t seen this certain brooch since. You are right, never get too comfortable handling precious old pieces!

These are absolutely beautiful! My favorites is the red set. They are all sets, I love it! So sorry to hear about the one that broke in half. I guess that's why I asked how do you store your jewelry. I can't stand when a stone is missing or it's broken. It hurts my heart.

Raven, thank you so much for the wonderful compliments! Like I said, the Ruby Red is my first and favorite, but I love this design so whenever I see a set for a good price, I try to make it my own. Still looking for a clear set. I store my jewelry in an armoire, keeping the pieces separated from one another....
Carefully! And I know exactly how you feel about damaged vintage, pieces that have been around for so many decades need to be taken care of! If anything, try to restore them if you can, like our dear friend Pascale....
