Recently scored this neat little ceramic pull-chain light fixture, after finding it discarded in a corner of an attic in an early 1950's building where I was otherwise working. After cleaning off a healthy layer of sloppy white ceiling paint, it turns out to still be in pristine condition -- no chips, cracks, or other damage! (and it still works fine, too?!!)

Its base measures 4-3/4" across and the whole thing is about 4" tall without a bulb in it. The PAULDING name is molded into the inside of its base (and the bottom of the light socket itself) along with various electrical specs, and (most of) a yellow Underwriter's Laboratories inspection label.

I am sure these never shorted, not like some recent light fittings.
