Highly unusual adjustable chair

    - Mostly oak, appears to be manufactured (not handmade)
    - The way to adjust it in 1 of 3 different heights is to pull slotted slat out, move chair to of 3 desired heights, and then push slotted slat back it
    - The seat seems to be a little large for it to be a childs chair, when it is at highest height it is almost comfortable to sit in (I am 5'10")
    - It swivels 306 degrees
    - The few screws that I can find in it are slotted

    Any thoughts on purpose? Who might have made it? Age?
