Francis Senska studio pottery bird sculpture. This hand formed bird sculpture has nice detail and was hand made and decorated by Francis Senska in her Bozeman Montana studio. She studied under Maija Grotell at Pond Farm and also attended workshops at the Archie Bray Foundation alongside Peter Voulkos and others.
This detailed bird is glazed in natural tones, detailed with lines and dots adding unique character to this piece. Signed "73" on the bottom along with a tag stating name and address.

I believe that what you are reading as 73 are actually her initials, FS. Nice piece by "the grandmother of Montana ceramics".
