Two beautiful Zuni animal fetishes I bought in 1994 at an auction in San Diego, CA that mainly dealt with closing NA tourist shops. Black onyx (or jet or marble per internet research) fox or squirrel and green serpentine stone w/turquoise eyes and arrow. Not sure what this green bushy tail creature is, maybe also a squirrel? He has etchings and pretty varigated shades of green.

Oh wow! I wish I could have been there too!!! This is a fab find. It looks like jade from here! Could it be a bear? No it does look like a squirrel - haha remember the squirrel and the crow??? What about an otter??? Do you think it may be an Otter? Whatever it is, he's just awesome!

Very nice! The one I have does sort of look the green one. I saw one like yours when I was checking them out online. I believe it was a fox.

Mary, these are both great! Each so different, but with elements in them that make them special. The green one reminds me of a skunk! :^)

Hi Share - I am not sure what my cute green critter is. Maybe the carver planned to attach another gift, and then it would not have looked like a bushy tail - making it a bear. I loved those auctions! Had so much fun and let so many great items go because I couldn't afford them. Same as me now, LOL! After searching online I think these were probably carved in the 1980's.

ulilwitch - yours might be a coyote or wolf! I checked 3 different zuni websites with no luck. So my guess is mine aren't that pricey - BUT, I put bids in for 2 more LOL. Definitely are collectible when signed. I wish I could remember what I paid for these....

Bil - always nice to hear from you, hope you have a great 2018 of collecting. I can't remember what I paid but I'm sure I had to bid on them. Anyway I love them. Mary

Thank you friends for loving these handmade animals: Jenni, Scott, Ivonne, Mike and Fort :-)
