Hello everyone
Just a little 9ct gold brooch to show you which features a very nice crown set, cabochon cut Boulder Opal.
The brooch measures 6cm long and is marked 9ct. I would be fairly certain that it is Australian made........time frame? Not sure, at a guess, early 1900s.
I bought this at an antiques fair about 2 years ago and I really love it!

I don't think boulder opals are appreciated enough but I love the subtlety of those colours poking through the matrix. So beautiful.

Thanks Karen, Must admit I prefer Boulder opals.......I like the other ones too, but the older boulder opals really are beautiful especially as you say with the colours poking through:-)
