Muliti-dimensional layers make up these pieces. One in smokey grey and the other Bermuda blue, with rows of ab rhinestones and navettes, topped with "rosettes", these earlier pieces have alot going for them. There are matching pieces,( someday) and if you look at the backs, you see "figure- eights", rivets,( to attach rosette), ring support structure, etc that define these as definitely D & E.
ENJOY!
Thank you as always Ken, To anwer your question... Yes, The phrase " firgure eight" was coined by Cheryl Kilmer. She has a shop on Ruby Lane called Past Perfections
She is also friends with Frank, son of William DeLizza.
I have seen pieces for sale owned by Frank on her site. Pictures of her collection (sigh) are in several publications. So... If you see a piece that has 8's, then it's as good as a signature.
I would love to buy pieces like these and the big bonus is if you get matching pieces !
Thanks Phil...
Coming from a collector of VERY high-end pieces, it's
quite a compliment!
Made me smile!
I'm always learning from you Eileen, and being delighted at the same time. Thanks!
Love the blue one Eileen! Hopefully I will find one with the figure eights one day.......I keep looking lol:-)
Awe, thanks Karen...
Glad I can be of some help.
That's why we are here... to support, teach, & learn from one another.
Thank you Judy,
I just found a piece from England so D & E is everywhere!
And thank you for the loves, dears!
These are such stunning pieces Eileen, particularly the Bermuda Blue. Just gorgeous. Thank you so much for sharing these brooches and your knowledge about them :)
Your D and E collection is the best I've ever seen. The photography shown here is so beautiful too!!!
Thank you so much Searching1, you humble me. My collection is mediocre at best. Ladies like Debra Trent and Linda Munn have collections of D & E grand parures, which as you know, are quite difficult to achieve when collecting D & E. I have several in the making though! Missing one piece here and there, and it’s not the money, it’s being able to find the piece! I have been looking for a clamper bracelet to complete a set for over 5 years! So when a collection is completed, like my sea life, one is almost giddy with happiness. Once again, you are so kind to say such nice things about my jewelry! I thank you!
