Good morning all! I had a request for a picture of my house. So thought I'd post here. I bought my dream house in upstate New York. It's a 1849 huge brick house with slate roof. 6700 square feet. With a carriage house in the back of the property. That which is 1700 square feet. With a full basement. The house had only had 2 family's own it before we took ownership. So everything is very much original inside. It has 6 bathrooms with 6 bedrooms. Part of which has a hidden maids chamber on the back second floor. You have to take the back steps. Or go threw the second floor kitchen closet to get to it. I loved the house so much that we moved 10 hours from Michigan to live in it. Was scary at first not knowing anyone. Or getting lost. But it's most beautiful with lots of lakes, trees, and mountains all about. Definitely a new adventure. As well as a huge house old enough to hold my antiques. Which im always on the look out for. We live in the historic district of town. I give tours of the house on occasion to locals. Thanks for looking! Have a great day!

Beautiful home!! It has great curb appeal. I’ve always loved homes with dormer windows.

Thanks so much! Most of them are original with the old wavy glass. (Only 2 replaced) Love that! Helps that they all have the original storm windows for the outside over the windows. Big house lots to heat.

Beautiful house! Sorry you had to leave beautiful Michigan, where I live. but you found a great place, with more snow than southern Mi for sure! If you want to find antiques right in your own backyard, locate where the 'outhouse' used to be and dig it out. Many treasures were thrown into them back then. Such as bottles! Hard work though. Good luck in NY!

I just added two pictures that are from 1900. I got them from the historic society I have a few more as well. These pictures were taken before they added the 3rd floor and maids quarters.

that porch!!! i love it! in the northeast, it was traditional to paint the ceilings of these porches sky blue. apparently, it discourages flies from hanging out there.

Wow what a terrific find. Love that old architecture and it stands the test of time. Just a truly lovely home. I have been watching this old house since the 1980’s . Your home reminds me of many episodes they have had over all those years. My wife is from upstate New York area. It’s just a Antique heaven for collectors. I left Michigan in 1971 and moved south. Now in north Atlanta and it’s similar in terrain to upstate New York. Happy hunting

My wife used to live in Corn Wall on Hudson. That’s by Westpoint. Are you anywhere near that city ?
