The legs don't seem to have been whitewashed? Or sanded?

The legs were very much sanded....my aching hands can attest to that. They were sanded 4 times each individually, starting with course and working to 320grit very fine. They were not white washed but I applied the darker stain I used on the body of the piece as well. On the other parts I used a lighter stain and white washed.
