Hi! I have had these marbles since I was a little girl, probably around 8 yrs of age. I’m almost 30 now so I’ve had them for a very long time. I collected marbles and had an extensive collection, but these were always most special to me. They have been well taken care of and looked that old when they were given to me. My mother bought them near the smoky mountains and said she had been told they were antique marbles found in that area. I can’t find anything like them so I was hoping someone might be able to tell me whether they are true antique marbles or not. They are a bit heavy, looks like some sort of stone and the colors you can tell ran a bit or are smudged in some places. Thanks for any help!

Size is a good indicator. These look like wooden ones and I would guess these are fairly rare. May be from Germany??? Do the best you can with letting us know the size.

Thank you all so much for your love and comments. I was able to get some more information from my mother. They are from Tennessee and I believe they might be clay marbles. They all vary in size just a little bit and are not perfectly rounded. The largest one is around an inch.
